 This week, two groups presented their assigned topics in the form of PowerPoint presentations. Among the few topics that were presented, the one that we had mainly explored — Academic Text Structures — was from Axel's group.  Academic Writing is commonly split into two types. The three part essay structure otherwise known as the IBC (Introduction, Body, Conclusion) structure and the IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion) structure. From what I had already in stock and from what I was able to absorb from their presentation, the IBC structure is more or less the standard format being used for all your essays, reflection papers, report papers and many other school related written activities. The IMRaD structure on the other hand is used specifically for research reports and the like.     This week we learned about Academic and Non-academic Texts. While it may have seemed obvious at first what should be considered academic and non-academic, there were so many more characteristics and factors to consider when identifying and differentiating these texts.     From what I was able to absorb from our lessons, for a text to be considered an academic text, it has to be targeted at "academics" or in other words, intellectuals who are specialized or interested in the field or subject that said text is covering. They must also always use a formal language and tone of writing, following a specific and uniform format for the purpose of being used as a point of reference or study. Examples of this would be research papers, concept papers, thesis papers, etc.     Non-academic texts on the other hand are texts that do not quite follow a specific format.  Para sa, Sinumang magpapahiram ng kanilang mga mata, tainga, at puso. Hey,      Oo ikaw, ikaw nga!... na nagbabasa nito na nakaupo sa isang sofa, sa sahig, sa iyong kama, o nasa iyong lugar ng trabaho o sa paaralan, marahil kahit sa isang tindahan sa isang lugar, humihigop ng isang tasa ng kape o tsaa. Ikaw na hindi kailanman naisip o kailangang mag-isip "Bakit ako tinatrato sa ganitong paraan?" o “Ano ang pinagkaiba ko sa kanila?”. Sa iyo na walang paki-alam sa mga taong hina-harass at tinatapakan ang pagkatao dahil lang sa hindi nila kayang ipagtanggol ang sarili. Iniaalay ko ang liham na ito sa iyo.      Ang karapatan ng isang tao na mabuhay, karapatang magmahal, at karapatang maging kung sino siya ay hindi isang bagay na basta na lamang mapagpasyahan ng ibang tao batay sa kanilang personal na paniniwala at katayuan sa buhay. ANG PAGTANGKILIK NG LOKAL AT SARILING PRODUKTO Pakatandaan na maraming masasarap at mahuhusay na produktong gawa na sariling atin. Dapat natin tangkilikin.  3. LIBUTIN ANG SARILING BANSA UPANG MALAMAN ANG NAPAKARAMING MAGAGANDANG LUGAR Bawat bansa ay may sariling anking kagandahan. Bago hangaan ang ibang bansa, dapat libutin at tuklasin ang magagandang lugar at tanawin sa sariling bansang sinilangan.

S. Napakagandang kanta. Ito ay laban sa diskriminasyon ngunit sa halip na labanan ang apoy sa pamamagitan ng apoy, poot sa poot, ito ay gumagamit ng pagmamahal. Huwag bigyang pansin ang mga nananakit at napopoot sa iba, sa halip, bakit hindi natin bigyang kahalagahan ang buhay, pagmamahal sa kapwa at mga magagandang bagay sa ating paligid.
